1st loss of season
ends season
The Trysting Place Rangers goal of an undefeated
season came to an end Saturday at Rainbow Park, as the Marlins handed the
Rangers their first loss of the year in the semi-finals of the Milwaukee
M.S.B.L. tournament. Through the first 6 innings, neither team was able
to hit the pay window as Marlin lefty Ernesto Castro, and Ranger starter
Dan Trivett dominated. Then in the 7th, the Marlins broke through for 4
runs, which proved to be enough as the Rangers could only manage 1 run
in their half of the inning. 1B Jeff Kovnesky had the only RBI for the
Rangers, following a 2B Terry Teske single. The Marlins advance to their
first appearance in the league championship, and will face the two-time
defending champs Vipers.
