| With a 14-1 victory Sunday over the Rockies at Wisconsin Ave Park,
the Trysting Place Rangers moved one step closer to putting together their
first undefeated regular season. The Rangers, now 15-0, have clinched the
#1 seed for the upcoming league playoffs. Ranger C Mike Butterfield got
the offense off to a quick start with a 1st inning grand slam. SS Scott
Radtke connected moments later with a solo shot of his own, and the Rangers
never looked back. Ranger pitching continued its dominance as starter John
Arnold, and relievers Gary Witthuhn and Dan Trivett held the potent Rockies
attack to 1 run on 6 hits, recording 12 strikeouts along the way. Other
hitting highlights include Jack Barron with a 2 run HR in the 4th, CF Pete
Jaske and Witthuhn with 2 hits, and Butterfield and Radtke with 3 runs
scored.
Ranger notes:
John Bergner and Dan Trivett represented the Rangers at the Milwaukee
County Stadium CAP (child abuse prevention) fund raiser on Saturday.
