| The Trysting Place Rangers won their 12th straight league game Sunday at Burnham Field with a time limit and rain delayed 18-0, 6 inning shutout over the Sox. The Rangers #1,2,and 3 hitters did the bulk of the damage, going a combined 8-10 as leadoff hitter CF Pete Jaske was 3-3 with 3 runs scored, and #2 hitter Jack Barron was 2-4 with 2 stolen bases and 3 runs scored. With the tables set, #3 hitter 1B Jeff Kovnesky drove in 6 runs, including 3 with a bases loaded double, one of Jeff's 3 hits. Pitching remained solid as starter John Arnold and reliever Dan Trivett shut down the Sox on only 4 hits. For the month of July, Ranger pitchers allowed 3ER in 32 innings for a microscopic team ERA of 0.84. |
