Ranger Record Improves to 11-0 with Win Over Orioles

Despite not playing their sharpest game of the year, the Trysting Place Rangers were able to defeat the GE Orioles 14-3 at Wisconsin Ave Park Sunday afternoon. Although collecting a season low 10 hits, Ranger hitters were aided by 9 walks and 2 hit batters, including 3 consecutive walks to begin the 4 run 4th. Ranger starting pitcher John Arnold went the distance, allowing 3 runs (2 earned), including a solo HR by Oriole Paul Lenz in the 2nd. Arnold struck out 14 and walked none. Hitting highlights for the Rangers included LF Dave Globig with 2 doubles, RF Jack Barron who was 2-3 with 2 RBI and also made a nice catch in the right centerfield gap. DH Tom Cavey had 3 RBI, 2 of which scored on a bases loaded double, and pinch hitter John Bergner who drove in 2 runs with a single.
