The Trysting Place Rangers improved to 13-0 with a 9-1 victory over the Marlins Thursday night at Wick Field. The Rangers got off to a fast start, scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st on consecutive hits by CF Pete Jaske, 2B Terry Teske (triple), and 1B Jeff Kovnesky. Starting pitcher Dan Trivett had the Marlins shut out for 8 2/3 innings when Marlin SS John Buono singled, scoring Joel Johnson with the lone Marlin run. Trivett's complete game included 6 K's. Ranger hitting highlights include DH PeteWhalen with 2 triples, 3B Al Alt who was 2-3 with 2 runs scored, Terry Teske and Jeff Kovnesky with 2 runs scored each, and CF Pete Jaske with 2 stolen bases. |
