Rangers Improve to 9-0 | Vipers fall to 10-1
The Trysting Place Rangers used the dominant pitching of John Arnold, and the combination of hot hitting and good defense to shut down the two-time defending league champion Leff's Vipers Sunday at Wisconsin Ave. Park. Arnold scattered 5 hits, struck out 9 Vipers, and allowed 1 walk in one of his finest pitching performances. No Viper reached third base, as Arnold kept the opposition of guard with an assortment of pitches. The Rangers grabbed the lead in the first, as Captain Terry Teske singled, and RF Jeff Kovnesky belted his 6th HR. Teske lead the team with 4 hits. The Rangers increased their lead to 9-0 in the 4th on a Kovnesky 2 RBI single, and a 3 run HR by 3B Al Alt.
