The Trysting Place Rangers (now 12-0) defeated an improved Old Dutchmen team Sunday afternoon at Wick Field by the score of 9-3. Ranger C Mike Butterfield led the offense, going 3-3 with 4 RBI and 1 run scored. After leaving the bases loaded without scoring in both the 2nd and 3rd innings, the Rangers took the lead in the 4th with an unusual 2 out rally. 3 consecutive walks with a passed ball and a throwing error brought home the 2 runs which gave the Rangers the lead for good. Other highlights include LF DJ Haas who was 2-3 at the plate with 2 runs scored and 3 stolen bases. Starting pitcher John Arnold threw 8 innings, collecting 8 K's while scattering 5 hits. Dan Trivett pitched a scoreless 9th. |
