Rangers Shake Rattlers And Roll To Easy Win

The Trysting Place Rangers improved to 7-0 on the season, piling up a big early lead, and then cruising to victory over the Rattlers. The Rangers played long ball as LF Jack Barron and RF Eric Rohde each drilled 3-run homers. Eric also scored 4 runs to lead the Rangers. Other hitting highlights included CF Pete Jaske, 1B Jeff Kovnesky, DH Dan Trivett, and 3B D.J. Haas, with 3 hits each. On the mound, Ranger starting pitcher John Arnold went 6 innings with 11 strikeouts, and Gary Witthuhn finished up with 3 scoreless frames. The Rattlers had only 8 players, so Ranger John Bergner switched teams to the Rattlers for the game. John slapped a single in 4 at bats, and took the mound to pitch a scoreless 8th. Rattler 1B Tom Carlson had 3 hits including a 2 run HR.
