Rangers, Alt Retire Rattlers


The Trysting Place Rangers scored 18 runs on 23 hits, both season highs, in a lopsided victory over the Rattlers Sunday at Burnham Field. The Rangers led 14-0 after 2 innings, and coasted to the win. Starting pitcher Dan Trivett limited the Rattlers to 1 run on 2 hits (10 K's) through 5 innings. Hitting leaders include retiring teacher / third baseman / relief pitcher Al Alt, who went 4-4 at the plate with 3 runs scored. 1B John Bergner had his second 4-4 game of the season, driving in 4 runs. DH Mike Butterfield continued his hot hitting with 3 hits, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. The Rangers played errorless defense for the 3rd straight game.
