Rangers improve to 5-0 | Kovnesky hits grand slam

The Trysting Place Ranger hitting machine claimed another victim Sunday, as the Rangers rolled to a 19-3 victory over the Braves. Every Ranger batter had at least one hit, and scored at least one run, as the offense remained in high gear. The Braves grabbed a quick 3-run lead in the first, but would be shut out the rest of the way by the pitching combo of starter John Arnold and reliever Dan Trivett. With a light drizzle falling on a cool and cloudy day, Ranger 1B Jeff Kovnesky stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the 3rd. The Rangers trailed at the time 3-2, but had loaded the bases. Kovnesky quickly unloaded them, crushing a grand slam to right field. Jeff has the team lead in HR's with 2, both grand slams. Other hitting stars include RF DJ Haas, who socked 2 doubles and drove in 6 runs, Dan Trivett who was 3-4 with 3 runs scored, and DH John Bergner with 3 hits.
