Rangers Cool Hot Orioles
The Trysting Place Rangers handed the Kelly's Bleachers Orioles their first loss Sunday by the score of 11-3 on a chilly afternoon at Burnham Field. With the temperature at 50 degrees, the Rangers used a 5 run fifth inning to turn up the heat on the Orioles, while the pitching duo of starter John Arnold and reliever Dan Trivett (2 innings & 4 K's) kept the Oriole bats cool. Hitting highlights include C Mike Butterfield with 2 hits and 3 RBI, Dan Trivett with a double and a solo HR, his 1st as a Ranger, and 3B Al Alt who was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Ranger defense played errorless ball, and turned 2 double plays. DJ Haas made a diving catch in RF saving 2 runs.
