The Trysting Place Rangers improved to
3-0 on the season with a convincing 13-0 shutout of the Old Dutchmen. The
formula for victory remained the same as the first two games: quality pitching,
balanced offense, and good defense. Ranger starting pitcher John Arnold
shut down the Dutchmen on 6 hits through 8 innings, while striking out
10. In relief, Gary Witthuhn tossed a 1-2-3 ninth, and collected 3 hits
at the plate. SS Scott Radtke put the Rangers on the board in the first
with a run scoring single. CF Pete Jaske had the key hit in the 2nd with
a bases loaded double. 1B Terry Teske, and RF Jeff Kovnesky also collected
3 hits each. The Rangers put the game away with a 7 run 4th inning as the
team batted around the order. After the game, Ranger players stopped at
the Trysting Place and enjoyed a delicious Mothers Day Brunch served by
team sponsor Sal Zizzo and his fine staff.
