Rangers Top Rockies
The Trysting Place Rangers defeated the Korbelly's Rockies 9-2 in a Mother's Day matinee at Burnham Field. An enthusiastic crowd enjoyed a pitching duel between Ranger starter John Arnold and Rockies starter Anthony Fioretti. The Rangers put the game out of reach with a 3-run HR by 1B Jeff Kovnesky in the 8th. For Kovnesky, it was his third HR of the season. Other hitting highlights include CF Pete Jaske with 2 runs scored, RP Dan Trivett with 2 triples, and SS Scott Radtke with 2 singles. Defensively, the Rangers turned 2 double plays, and 3B Al Alt made a nice catch of a foul pop-up near the Rockies bench.

Note: A league hearing on the April 29 protest by the Rangers found that Yankee suspended manager Dean Muller violated the terms of his suspension. By a vote of the league board based on this incident, and several other infractions, Muller "is no longer allowed to be a player and/or manager indefinitely in MSBL Milwaukee." The Rangers were awarded a forfeit victory in the April 29 game.
