RANGERS EDGE ORIOLES 5-4 - REACH LEAGUE FINALS
The Trysting Place Rangers survived their semi-final game with the Orioles, and will move on to meet the winner of the Marlins vs. Vipers. The Final is set for Sunday 11AM at Simmons Field for the title of Milwaukee MSBL League Champion. Ranger starting pitcher Gary Witthuhn kept the Orioles off the scoreboard for 5 innings, while the Rangers built a 4 run lead. In the second inning, RF Pete Whalen's groundout scored the first run, and Al Alt later scored from third on a double steal attempt. The Ranger third produced a run on a Jeff Kovnesky sac fly, and consecutive doubles in the fourth by 2B Scott Radtke and Whalen gave the Rangers a 4 run cushion. But the Orioles battled back to tie the game in the sixth, with the key hits a 2 run triple by Paul Lenz, and an RBI single by Rick Raiche.  Radtke lead off the Ranger 7th with a single, stole second, and scored on Tom Cavey's RBI single. Al Alt retired the final 6 Orioles to preserve the victory and send the Rangers to the finals.
