John Arnold Supplies Power as Rangers
Rally Past O's
Starting pitcher John Arnold was also the team's main weapon on
offense in the first game of a Sunday double-header for the Rangers. Going
a perfect 3-3 at the plate, Arnold socked his 2nd homer of the season,
a 2 run 6th inning shot to tie the score at 4. Relief pitcher Al Alt held
the O's in check, and Arnold's final at bat, a 9th inning RBI single proved
to be the game winner for the Rangers (now 6-1). DH Tom Cavey added 2 insurance
runs with a single, and Alt retired the Orioles in the bottom of the ninth
to pick up the victory.
