TRYSTING PLACE RANGERS WIN DIVISION TITLE
Defeat Rockies to claim 1st round bye in league playoffs
The Trysting Place Rangers captured the Milwaukee M.S.B.L. Division I title Sunday, with a 19-12 win over the Rockies. With the title, the Rangers earned a bye for the first round of the league playoffs, scheduled to begin Sept.11. The Rangers will play a quarterfinal game Sunday Sept.12 at 2:00 at Humboldt Park (3000 S Howell), against the winner of the Braves and Rockies, which is to be played at 1:00 Sunday Sept.11 at Rainbow Park (700 S 119).
The Rangers (12-3 final regular season record), jumped out to a quick lead against their division rival Rockies, and were coasting at 18-2 in the 7th. But then the Rockies scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 7th, with all 10 runs scoring after 2 were out. Jim Jendusa, making his Ranger pitching debut, ended the Rockies rally, and pitched a scoreless 8th to help secure the victory.
